Welcome 2009 Editing Students

Tonight is the first night for my TU journalism class this semester. I will be teaching Editing for Print Media and use this blog space for the class. In reality the course is going to me more of an editing for many types of media -especially the web. I am really looking forward to this class.
Students you are tasked with getting a blogger account (that also ids you with your real name) and post a quick comment here so I know you know how to follow directions. :)

Editing Class - new media ideas?
I will be teaching an editing course at TU in the Spring. I am always looking for ways to "freshen" the course material. Of course students have to learn to edit documents, but we are no longer talking about just printed newspaper columns - there is so much more out there today. It is a journalism class but many of the students will be marketing/pr majors or general liberal arts students...I teach the class in a computer lab so everyone will have access to the Internet etc.So, I am looking for suggestions on topics, textbooks, guest speakers etc....Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
